Pronounced “em-pahna-diyas de sal-mohn,” these Spanish inspired pastry puffs stuffed with SAFCOL® Gourmet on the go Salmon Mediterranean Style make perfect Hors d'œuvres that melt in your mouth.
Ingredients:
- 1 pouch SAFCOL® Gourmet on the go Salmon Mediterranean Style
- 1 sheet (16oz) puff pastry
- 2 oz chopped walnuts
- 1 tbsp marsala wine
- 1 chopped scallion
- 1 egg (white)
- Serrano ham and Spanish chorizo for garnish
- Salt to season
Instructions:
To make filling, mix SAFCOL® Gourmet on the go Salmon Mediterranean Style, walnuts, wine, scallion, and season with salt to taste. Preheat oven to 350°F. Using a 3 ⅝” pastry cutter, cut the pastry into 12 round pieces. Place 1 tsp filling in the middle of each round piece, then brush the edges with egg white. Bring up with sides of the pastry and seal well. Press the sealed sides with the back of a fork. Place empanadillas slightly apart, on a lightly greased baking sheet. Bake until empanadillas are puff up and turn golden brown. |
