Findings of nine respected scientists from Harvard University and University of Michigan show a correlation between pregnant women’s consumption of fish during pregnancy and the intelligence of their children. Children of 28 mothers that consumed canned tuna at least twice a week showed better test scores compared to 130 mothers that never ate any tuna while pregnant. In an article published by PR Newswire on March 26th, 2008, slated for publication in the April edition American Journal of Epidemiology, Center for Consumer Freedom Research Director David Martosko claims consumers should reexamine the current stigma that is associated with tuna. There have never been any reported cases of mercury poisoning from fish consumption in the U.S. PRNewswire. “Pregnant Women Who Eat More Fish, Including Canned Tuna, Have Smarter Children’ Brains.”Seafood.com 26 Mar. 2008 |
